Geographic Salary Differentials

March 18, 2021

Lori Wisper

Managing Director in Willis Towers Watson's Talent and Rewards

Segment and Rewards Practice Leader for the Midwest

COVID-19 has changed many things about how we live and work, but none more so than the reality that the majority of employees are now working remotely - away from their offices/work sites that once were the primary base of operations.  While this has influenced many HR-related issues, how we will use Geographic Salary Differentials now and into the future will be greatly impacted.

Please join Lori Wisper of Willis Towers Watson for our next session on Thursday March 18 at 12:00pm when we explore what this will mean as employers set pay rates and design salary structures.  We will discuss how it will impact the definition of a "competitive labor market" and when geography should still be considered a primary determinant of competitive pay levels and when it shouldn't.  We will also discuss the practical nature of considering geography/location of work on pay programs and attraction/retention of employees, even as current conditions continue to evolve and stabilize.  And, we will encourage attendees to share their experiences and how they have used geographic salary differentials in a remote working world.

Lori Wisper is a Managing Director in Willis Towers Watson's Talent & Rewards Segment and Rewards Practice Leader for the Midwest.  She has over 30 years of experience both in consulting and corporate HR, primarily focused on Global Compensation and total rewards strategy, program design and processes.  She has consulted with both global and U.S. based clients on broad based compensation and talent management issues including global total rewards strategy and program design, global job leveling and career frameworks, compensation and pay for performance strategy, pay equity and wage and hour regulatory compliance assessments, incentive plan and base salary design, sales effectiveness and sales compensation, performance management and compensation processes and administration.  She is also the firm's thought leader on the topic of pay for performance in which she has also consulted, written and spoken publicly.

This is a virtual event - details coming soon!
