Hi!  My name is Kim Powell and I am the Compensation Consultant/Coordinator for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. This is my first year severing as a CBN board member.  I previously served as a member of the Memphis Mid-South Compensation and Memphis Local SHRM chapter. I am a born Memphian and relocated to St. Louis in 2014 and am currently pursuing my MBA at Webster University.  Aside from working, I support several organizations and initiatives within the St. Louis area, which includes the nonprofit organization Butterfly Haven.

What is Butterfly Haven?

Butterfly Haven, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serving the greater St. Louis area’s foster, adoptive families and children in crisis.

Butterfly Haven Provides Support and Love

Every child deserves to feel cared for and thought of, and Butterfly Haven strives to meet the needs of children in a thoughtful, personal way that will make a lasting impact.

When Butterfly Haven is notified of a child who is transitioning to foster care, a care bag is assembled for that child that includes things like toiletries, coloring books, a stuffed animal, and any other things depending on the age of the child. These items come in a suitcase or backpack, so the child knows that anything in that bag goes with them no matter where they end up. This is one of many ways Butterfly Haven strives to help each child feel safe and secure.
